In 2002 Eppendorf and the prestigious Science journal initiated an annual $25,000 research prize to acknowledge outstanding contributions to neurobiology research. A communications plan was implemented to generate market awareness of the prize and motivate potential candidates to apply. The campaign included print/online advertising, e-marketing, direct mail, trade show graphics, posters, and public relations. The prizewinner was announced at a Prize Ceremony. The launch was a huge success.
